On June 6, a senseless attack on a Muslim family occurred in London Ontario, killing four and leaving a young child fighting for his life. This incident once again reminds us that Islamophobia and racism are real threats to our communities.

Prejudice and hatred pose a real danger to racialized people and members of other equity-seeking groups – this is why we need to always be learning and educating ourselves.

We at CEIU stand in solidarity with our Muslim members and condemn hate crimes and violence that take innocent lives.  CEIU would like to express our sincere condolences to all the families of the Muslim community were impacted by this tragedy.
